The Lantern, Singapore

There isn’t much we love more than a killer bar with a killer view. Luckily for us, we’ve got one that fits the bill, right at the top of the Fullerton Bay Hotel in Singapore. The Lantern is  a stylish combination of an outdoor bar and shimmering pool, with incredible panoramic views of the Marina Bay Waterfront and the incredible Singapore skyline.

The bar was designed by Hong Kong based designer Andre Fu. Fu took inspiration from the historical Clifford Pier, naming the bar after it. Clifford Pier was a “landing point for Singapore’s first immigrants and red lanterns used to hang from the pier as a guide to seafarers.” The design and furnishing of the Lantern were chosen to evoke the early 20th Century period of colonialism, with contemporary chic elements to express the luxury of the Fullerton Bay Hotel.

The main bar is sheltered from the elements by a  large white awning, with vintage style crystal chandeliers. The large circular bar is finished with sheets of polished bronze, recreating the form of antique lanterns. Also under the awning are comfortable day beds and vintage style chairs, tables and lounges.

The Lantern is most popular in the evening, when the temperature falls and the lighting across Marina Bay is at its best. The bar is the best spot for picture perfect moments with some great signature cocktails, delectable gourmet snacks, and great vibrant and sensual beats.

The Fullerton Bay Hotel is a beauty itself. The hotel, which was completed in 2010, provides incredible service and is said to embody refined elegance. The hotel’s amazing location is not just due to its waterfront position but also its proximity to Singapore’s Central Business District and Arts and Cultural precinct. The five star hotel was cited by Forbes and Travel and Leisure USA as one of the best hotels in the world.
